Following ongoing and significant expansion, SEER requires additional staff to deliver our interesting range of evaluation projects across our diverse member base. The Evaluation Officer will support our members in delivering on a wide range of interesting evaluation projects across the student lifecycle.
The SEER Evaluation Officer should have a firm belief in the value of data-driven, evidence-based policy and practice and a clear understanding of how to develop evaluation measures. The Evaluation Officer will have knowledge of a range of methods including survey design and qualitative methods (e.g. focus groups). They also will have knowledge of analysing both qualitative and quantitative data. We are aware methods are constantly evolving so the Evaluation Officer must be willing to learn new methods as they arise and will be supported to do so. Experience of working within a higher education context and particularly within access and participation will be an advantage.
SEER reporting includes a range of recommendations to develop or improve practice, which need to be effectively communicated to members. The Evaluation Officer will therefore be skilled in presenting data findings in a variety of mediums, and will be able to think creatively about how to engage audiences with evaluation outputs and recommendations.
The SEER Evaluation Officer will work closely with colleagues and our member institutions to develop and deliver evaluation activity from initial design to reporting and dissemination. They will work closely with Programme and Evaluation Managers to deliver a range of evaluation projects concurrently in a fast-paced dynamic environment. We need someone who is a capable, thoughtful and results-focused team player.
