Student Development Manager

The Opportunity:

You will lead our Student Development Office (SDO) and team, managing the strategic development, growth, delivery and assessment of its professional and academic skills training programmes; career development and employability support; and other community building initiatives and experiential learning opportunities. 

This post is open ended and available from May 2024.

This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), and we are open to considering flexible working patterns where the hours of work occur across the standard working week (i.e. Monday to Friday). We will also consider requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis), however it is expected that the majority of the work week hours will be on-campus. 

Your skills and attributes for success:

• Professionally qualified/relevant degree plus, typically, a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in a similar or related role, or substantial vocational experience (typically more than 5 years) demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding work/roles 
• Professional, confident self-starter, with in-depth experience of working in HE 
• Experience of delivering employability and academic/professional development initiatives in HE sector
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation, influencing and facilitation skills appropriate for a range of audiences and styles
