An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced & proactive administrator to join the Faculty of Arts and Humanities' Operating Service.

About the role

We are a collegiate team which work with a range of Academic & Professional Service colleagues to provide high level administrative support. As a member of our busy and engaged administrative team, you will deliver a thoughtful, pro-active, and efficient service.  To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant experience and success in similar work in administration
  • Up-to-date MS Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint
  • Ability to independently organise activities and events (plus schedules, diaries, meeting arrangements, etc), whilst prioritising a conflicting workload
  • Ability to use own initiative and suggest and implement practical & effective solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in taking meeting minutes
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

 Desirable skills:

  • RSA II word-processing, or equivalent level of skill or qualification
  • Experience of monitoring a small scale budget (e.g. stationery)

The FOS team is the integral and embedded professional service directly involved in running & maintaining the Faculty and is key to driving continual improvements & ensuring best practice.
