The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Bristol’s thriving Digital Health research group, as a core-funded lecturer on Bristol’s academic pathway 1 (teaching and research).

What will you be doing?

  • You will be co-leading on computer vision in the new £7.7M EPSRC-funded “TORUS” Programme Grant, where cameras and machine learning at the edge will be characterising symptoms of Parkinsons Disease.
  • You will also be a key contributor both to the new LEAP Digital Health Hub (£4M) and the CDT in Digital Health & Care (£8.2M), both of which have internal funding available.
  • Teaching duties will include delivering a unit (module) in the MSc Digital Health degree programme.
  • As an expert in machine learning and computer vision, the successful applicant will likely make contributions to other teaching in the School’s portfolio of degree programmes.

You should apply if

You should apply if you want to extend the state of the art in computer vision as applied to real world healthcare challenges and you enjoy collaborative research and team science with other technical disciplines, clinical researchers, and industry partners.

Grant writing and lecturing are both expectations of the role, both as an individual but also in collaboration with wider teams with the Research Group and the School.
