We have a community that centres around our staff and students, and beyond to our global alumni, partners in academe, and businesses and societies across the world. We are proud of our welcoming environment and collegial approach. We celebrate our broad base of disciplines that bring a richness of perspectives to help us find solutions to the challenges facing our world, all from a sustainable and global perspective. We adopt an agile approach that draws upon our evolving expertise to address these challenges in a collaborative environment to enable us to create a more sustainable and better future.

Our ambitious plans for growth

We have embarked on an ambitious strategic plan encompassing research, education and broader engagement across our growing community.

Part of these ambitious plans is to develop new and exciting postgraduate taught (PGT) programmes that address contemporary business needs.

This growth aligns and supports the University strategy through our guiding principles:

  • Visibly Leading: PGT programmes with strong home and international cohorts are key for sharing knowledge in our core areas of strength and building reputation and recognition.
  • Freedom and Opportunity to Succeed: in developing these new programmes we provide an opportunity for our current and future staff to develop programmes around their areas of expertise.
  • Responding to Current and Future Challenges: by developing programmes with a strong focus on digital, data and sustainability, we are directly responding to contemporary challenges and the needs of employers.

Having launched several new MSc programmes in 2022 and 2023, including Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Sustainability, Sustainability Management, Business Analytics, and Digital Marketing, we’re continuing to add to our postgraduate portfolio with the addition of more new programmes over the next three years.

It is through this growth that we are now making an investment of £1m in new appointments to support the teaching of these new programmes and to further develop the strengths of the School in the key areas of sustainability, digital and data.

We are excited about our latest opportunities and welcoming new colleagues with a range of backgrounds into the School.
