Founded in 1905, EQUIS, AMBA & AACSB accredited, ICN Business School, a French Grande Ecole in Management, is one of the leading business schools in Europe. ICN has several campuses and teaching sites, including Nancy and Paris, France, as well as Berlin, Germany. In Nancy, ICN is located on the ARTEM campus, a common campus shared between the ARTEM partner institutions, the National School of Art and Design and the National School of Engineering.

ICN Business School strives to be a reference in innovative, transdisciplinary and responsible business education in the heart of Europe. ICN prepares students and managers to meet the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s workplace. What we offer

Our PhD program is rigorous and challenging. It transforms students into responsible researchers who contribute to the development of contemporary, creative and innovative knowledge in management and business. Yet, our programme is also individualized and collegial as students develop close working relationships with their mentors from our faculty. Students will work side-by-side with our international faculty and join a community of enthusiastic scholars who share a passion for research and inquiry.

Our researchers are internationally recognized experts in their field. They are academic leaders, provide innovative solutions to the corporate sector, and share their expertise and skills with our PhD students. ICN is well-known as a place of excellence for research into sustainability in business and management, corporate social responsibility and innovation. Our researchers place great emphasis on providing future leaders with the skills and tools they need to realise sustainable outcomes in all areas of business and management.

Our PhD Program will prepare researchers for a career in international universities, research-oriented entities or high tech industries. The ICN PhD encourages creativity in the topics and methodologies, and promotes transdisciplinary research.

The ICN PhD Programme is the equivalent of 3 full-time years of study and includes intensive doctoral training.

Tuition fee waiver and paid teaching/research assistant positions

  • Tuition fees are waived for all students whose year-to-year progress is confirmed by the Review Committee.
  • Tuition fees are waived for a maximum of three years.
  • In addition, a limited number of paid positions as graduate teaching assistants are available every year for suitably qualified candidates.

Entry requirements and how to apply

To be eligible for programme you need to have either

  • A Master’s degree or an equivalent degree appropriate to the programme

or

  • Research experience at the postgraduate level and published research work or written reports or be able to provide other appropriate evidence of achievement.

You will also have to prepare the following documents for your application:

  • CV
  • Research proposal
  • Statement of motivation for completing a PhD
  • Two academic references
  • All documents will have to be in English.

Please, be aware that the ICN BS PhD Programme is a face-to-face Programme.

Consequently, only the physical presence will be accepted. Any unjustified and validated absence will result in exclusion from the PhD Programme.
