Lecturer in Media, Journalism and Communications

Job Purpose

To contribute to and build on the existing success of the MSc in Media, Communications and International Journalism, and to support future growth within that programme. To contribute to the delivery of an excellent student experience by contributing to teaching, assessment and administration processes associated with undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to undertake scholarship to enhance learning and teaching in the School of Social & Political Sciences. This will include delivering, organising and reviewing these processes in line with School strategic objectives.

Standard Terms & Conditions

The salary will be on the Research and Teaching Grade, level 7, £34,520 - £38,833 per annum.

This a 0.6 FTE post and has funding up to 12 months in the first instance.

The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme. Further information regarding the scheme is available from the Superannuation Officer, who is also prepared to advise on questions relating to the transfer of Superannuation benefits.

All research and related activities, including grants, donations, clinical trials, contract research, consultancy and commercialisation are required to be managed through the University's relevant processes (e.g. contractual and financial), in accordance with the University Court's policies.

Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.

Probation Period

New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.
