Coventry University has been investing strongly in research excellence, with an additional investment of GBP 100 million in research, plus a total spend of GBP 150 million in its estate and facilities, including for social sciences and business-related research. The University has also established several new Research Centres, one of which is the Centre for Financial and Corporate Integrity (CFCI) that has research on corporate ethics and governance at its heart (see below).
THE CENTRE FOR FINANCIAL AND CORPORATE INTEGRITY (CFCI)
The Centre for Financial and Corporate Integrity was established in 2017 to promote a research agenda that resonates with current trends in Economics, Finance, Accounting and Legal research which mainly focuses on the emerging complexity and interrelationship amongst these four disciplines in terms of corporate financial behaviour, risk and compliance and, governmental policy and how these affect relevant stakeholders in terms of social, economic and environmental welfare and sustainability.
Although recently new, the centre has already grown to almost 25 research staff, with 37 PhD students.
This is a senior post for an experienced researcher and is equivalent to a Senior Lectureship. Successful candidates have the exceptional opportunity to help shape the work and strategy of the Centre in this exciting phase and help drive our future growth. Limited teaching is expected, and this will be at Masters or PhD level only. Also, prior experience in PhD supervision in the fields of CSR and CG is essential as demonstrated by evidence of successful PhD completions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior researcher in corporate governance (CG) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) to work in a large interactive research Centre and further develop its research capabilities in that field.
This new position locates firmly in the Accounting, Accountability, Law and Governance (AALG) research theme of the CFCI. The three interacting research streams so far are:
