The successful post holder will be an active member of the Lane Group assisting in the development of research proposals and the planning and delivery of the research activity so that the overall research objectives of the Leverhulme Trust project are met.
The project will explore the possibility of creating very cold hydrogen atoms from the laser fragmentation of molecules that have been cooled to sub-millikelvin temperatures by optical forces.
The project is mainly computer based and will employ theoretical and analytical methods from a range of physical science disciplines.
This is post is for 7.5 months in the first instance that includes significant funds for travel.
