The Student Immigration Compliance Team is part of the Academic Division and works closely with several teams and departments across the division and institution to ensure the University complies with immigration regulations.

As part of a team of three Immigration Compliance Officers, you will be responsible for the delivery of sponsorship through compliance reporting and monitoring. While an understanding of current UK Visas and Immigration policy on student visas and of the UK's immigration system is desirable, more important is your proven ability to prioritise conflicting demands and meeting rigorous deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

As Immigration Compliance Officer you will:

  • Monitor overseas student data, produce reports and carry out "right to study" checks to ensure we meet our sponsor duties under Tier 4 of the Points Based System of Immigration.
  • Provide information to promote a good understanding and awareness of student immigration matters among staff across the institution.
  • Manage complex Tier 4 cases and analyse risk to inform decisions and make recommendations.
  • Support with the preparation for and organisation of key events.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • To be educated to A level or have equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in an administrator role within higher education.
  • Experience of producing reports and evaluating data.
  • Experience of working collaboratively to ensure team targets are met.

The Academic Division has University wide responsibility for all student and course related administration, providing a range of centralised services to the University, Departments and the Faculties.

The Division currently comprises of Planning and Student Information, Enrolment management Services, the Unit for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching, International Development, 3 Faculty Administration Sections, European Centre Administration, Medway Campus Administration, Overseas Immigration Compliance and the KentVision Project.
