The University of London Financial Planning and Analysis Department is seeking to recruit an Associate Finance Director: Property & Strategic Projects to join their department for a fixed term period of 9 months to cover maternity leave and an internal secondment.
This post will lead a management accounting team of 5 and play a central role in providing strategic financial management support to the Property and Facilities Management Senior Management Team. In addition to this the postholder will assist the Deputy Director of Finance with strategic finance support to aid decision making for other key University projects. The role will require robust financial analysis and close liaison with colleagues both within finance and across other areas of the University, both at operational and senior management levels.
The Property and Facilities Management Department is comprised of three core areas, The Facilities and Contracts Unit, Residential Accommodation and the Conference and Events Department. The Department ensures that the buildings within the Estate are operated safely and properly maintained as well as manage, on behalf of the University, a wide range of project and development activities including major construction and refurbishment projects. In addition to the capital projects the department currently has a number of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the services it offers.
To succeed in this role you will have substantial experience in a senior management accounting role in a complex, dynamic organisation and previous experience of managing relationships with different stakeholders, with proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships at all levels both internally and externally. Previous demonstrable experience of providing high quality strategic financial support to aid decision making is an essential requirement. The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in order to meet strict deadlines, along with the ability to develop talent, lead and manage a team.
Please note this is a full time, fixed term position for 9 months.
