There is an opportunity within the School of Health Sciences for an enthusiastic, motivated, Lecturer in Physical Activity Health and Wellbeing to join the team at Queen Margaret University’s School of Health Sciences.
You will hold at least a BSc/ BSc (Hons) degree in a related topic such as Public Health/ Health promotion, Exercise /Sports Science, Education, Community development, or Coaching, and be an Exercise Professional with a minimum of the REPS Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification. You will have experience of physical activity, health and wellbeing community based programmes; supporting clients from a variety of backgrounds, including children, older people, those with long term conditions, and deprived or hard to reach groups. You share an interest in salutogenic approaches to health and wellbeing, Third sector partnership working, and a commitment to widening participation in higher education.
You will lead on developing resources, and teaching the exercise qualifications embedded in year 1 and 2 programme modules for BSc (Hons) Physical activity health and wellbeing. You will contribute to programme development/writing of modules integrated within the curricula, including development of external professional networks to support the students.
You should have excellent interpersonal skills and established organisational and problem solving skills that will enable you to work collaboratively with colleagues and other professional teams.
