We are seeking an experienced and visionary individual to have a significant input into supporting the establishment and development of an ambitious, internationally facing BA (Hons) Textiles programme within a dynamic Art School in the centre of Moscow.
The British Higher School of Art & Design has been at the forefront of Art & Design education in Russia for the past 15 years and is establishing an international reputation as a provider of high quality, innovative and creative undergraduate and pre-degree Art & Design programmes.
Building upon the success of our existing undergraduate Art & Design provision, we are introducing BA (Hons) Textiles from September 2019 which along with all of our undergraduate Degree provision is validated by our partner institution the University of Hertfordshire.
This exciting and unique opportunity offers the postholder the chance to make a significant contribution to the evolution of a new generation of internationally facing textile designers in Russia.
This will be an evolving post whilst the course rolls out it’s three year groups and as such the postholder will be pivotal in the further development and subject specific expansion of the Textiles provision within the school.
BA (Hons) Textiles is one of three awards offered within the Contemporary Design Crafts programme, with BA (Hons) Jewellery also launching in September 2019 and BA (Hons) Ceramics and Glass launching in September 2020. Whilst sharing the same programme specification, each of the three awards will establish their own subject specific identity.
All Learning and Teaching is in English and knowledge of Russian language is not necessary for the post.
The successful candidate will join a team of experienced art and design lecturers and subject specialists consisting of international and local full time and part time staff who together help to create a culturally rich and vibrant, creative environment.
This is a unique and important appointment which presents the postholder with the opportunity to play a key role in the overall development of a new area of provision within the school.
Applicants will be ambitious and highly motivated, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as be team players with the ability to inspire, lead and manage students and staff.

Salary: 32,000–48,000 GBP depending on position applied for, grade and experience.
Monthly salary is paid in the Russian Ruble equivalent of the agreed GBP monthly salary rate.
Russian Income Tax is currently set at a flat rate of 13%.
