We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual wishing to excel in both clinical dental public health and academic training and who has the ambition to be part of the next generation of world-leading academic dental public health consultants. This Clinical Lectureship offers an exciting opportunity for a dentist who has already demonstrated outstanding academic potential in their doctoral research. The post offers an opportunity to develop further as a researcher and at the same time undertake NHS clinical training in dental public health. The research component of the post is situated in the Department of Health Services Research (Institute of Population Health Sciences) and therefore offers an exciting opportunity for interdisciplinary working alongside researchers from a range of inter-disciplinary fields such as primary medical care, psychology, sociology, bio-ethics and philosophy. Situated in the Institute of Population Health Sciences the post also offers an opportunity to link with one of the best Departments of Public Health in the world (Liverpool University Department of Public Health and Policy).
You should have BDS or equivalent and also have (or have submitted) a PhD in a relevant area by the time of submitting an application for the post. A Masters in Dental Public Health is an advantage. You will have a high level of understanding and experience of both qualitative and quantitative research methods. You will have full registration with the UK General Dental Council as a dentist. The post is available for 4 years.
