We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant for 12 months within the Centre for Person-centred Practice Research in the School of Health Sciences, at Queen Margaret University. The successful candidate will work with a research team on a study funded by NHS Lothian Expert Components of Person-Centred Nursing Intervention for older People with Cognitive Impairment in a Hospital Experiencing Distress EPIC.
The study is a collaborative project between Queen Margaret University and NHS Lothian addressing an important area of nursing practice. The post holder will help to recruit participants for the study, collect data and support analysis and write up of the study.
Key responsibilities include recruiting people with dementia or their family members in St John’s Hosptial in West Lothian, undertaking data collection including observation and interviews, support analysis, and assist with project documentation and writing of research reports and publications under supervision of the principal investigator of the research (Prof Erna Haraldsdottir).
The appointment offers a great opportunity to interact with an experienced research team in care for people with dementia and the post is ideal for a researcher or clinical health care professional wishing to develop their research career in this field.
