You will be joining a rapidly growing, vibrant team at a leading international research institute studying mouse genetics and functional genomics. This is an opportunity to join a large group of developers, data wranglers and bioinformatics researchers while working in an academic environment. You will join the newly funded collaborative project between MRC Harwell and the Novartis/University of Oxford Big Data Institute to establish a world-leading research alliance that will improve drug development by making it more efficient and more targeted.

Our institute ( investigates a wide variety of mouse models to enhance our understanding of the molecular and genetic basis of physiology and disease. The wider Informatics group develops computational methods to explore the large volumes of data generated by our projects and disseminate the results to the wider scientific community as well as supporting the overall IT infrastructure of the site.

You will have:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in life science or computing
  • Experience with bioinformatics techniques, data management and/or data curation
  • Experience of clinical trial data and data standards
  • Familiarity with Linux/UNIX-based environment
