Research Associate in Numerical Analysis of PDEs for Wave Propagation

Applications are invited for a 3-year full-time Research Associate to work with Dr Euan Spence as part of the EPSRC-funded project "At the interface between semiclassical analysis (SCA) and numerical analysis (NA) of wave propagation problems".

This position will be concerned with the numerical analysis - involving a mixture of theory and computations - of acoustic and electromagnetic problems, modelled in the frequency domain by the Helmholtz equation and the time-harmonic Maxwell equations. (There is a second PDRA focused on SCA aspects.)

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a subject area of direct relevance for the project. The knowledge and experience of working in the area of boundary integral equations will be an added advantage, but strong applicants without this experience are also encouraged to apply.

The post carries no teaching or administrative duties. There are generous funds available under the project for attending conferences and conducting research visits.

This post is fixed-term for 3 years, starting no later than 1 October 2019 by mutual agreement.

Interviews will take place in late April/early May.
