The Human Resource Management subject group, part of the Department of Business and Management at UWE Bristol, is seeking a Professor of Human Resource Management to join the team at our £55million business school.

We are looking for a committed Professor of HRM who can make a strong and growing contribution primarily in research, to include taking a leading role in the development of our vibrant and growing research group; Human Resources, Work and Employment. In addition the post holder will be expected to make a positive contribution to teaching and learning, building effective and beneficial external relationships and demonstrate proven experience of successful academic leadership.
The successful applicant will join a thriving community of academics in the HRM subject field which currently comprises 26 members of staff. You will have the opportunity to contribute to our range of highly rated undergraduate and postgraduate offerings, including our CIPD accredited programmes – the BA (Hons) in Business and HRM, the MSc in HRM and MSc in International HRM.
Sharing our passion for research and education as well as our desire to influence practice, candidates should hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, preferably a PhD, and a postgraduate higher education teaching qualification.
You should be a recognised authority in your field and an active contributor to the academic community; demonstrating subject excellence with a strong and growing publication record plus evidence of developing academic collaborations nationally and/or internationally. In addition you should be able to demonstrate successful and innovative practice in the design and delivery of teaching.
We particularly welcome applicants with proven research credentials in the general subject area of Human Resource Management and expertise in some of the following teaching areas: Strategic HRM, managing performance, reward and resourcing. The nature of the subject group’s teaching means that candidates should be confident, outgoing and able to lead a teaching team on large modules as well as independently on specialist HRM modules. You should share our passion for research and education as well as our desire to influence practice and you will have the opportunity to contribute to our range of highly rated undergraduate and postgraduate offerings.
