The vision of the UCL Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering (IEDE) is a world in which the development of buildings and the urban environment is sustainable. Faced with the challenges of health, well-being, productivity, comfort, energy use and climate change, the UCL IEDE’s mission is to generate and exchange knowledge in the sustainable development of buildings and the urban environment and to train the future leaders in the field.
UCL IEDE has a number of part time 0.2FTE teaching positions available on the MEng Engineering and Architectural Design programme. Post holder(s) will be required to teach their appointed subject to students on prescribed modules at specific times of year. The central purpose of all roles is to maintain an innovative and distinct academic agenda within both the global context of engineering and architectural development and the local context of the school. Relevant areas of expertise include: Building Physics Monitoring and Measurements (based in our new teaching facilities at HereEast) Building Acoustics Building Services Engineering Building Performance Simulation & HVAC Design Data Analytics for Smart Buildings MEP CAD BIM
The post holder will have a PhD, or be near to completion, in a subject relevant to a research area in the job description, or relevant industry experience, together with excellent relevant knowledge of theory, engineering and design strategies. The ability to deliver and develop programmes of teaching as well as technical skills in the areas outlined in the job description is essential.
