The Faculty of Business Sciences invites applications for a
Professorship (W2) Business English and International Business Competencies
(Reference number: Zw Sp2)
beginning September 1st, 2019.
The Faculty of Business Sciences trains students at both Bachelor and Master’s degree levels in the disciplines of Business Administration, Industrial Engineering and Public Administration. We also provide many distance learning and vocational programs.
Core teaching and research areas for this post are based on Business English and focus on the business cultures behind the language. This includes international and intercultural business and management competencies, the internationalization and digitalization of society as well as the development of professional key qualifications in business administration.
It is the ambition of the faculty to create synergy between teaching and research, and to develop a set of new interdisciplinary courses within the academic program. The focus is on using the English language as a tool to apply content from other business classes on a professional level, and to develop strong international networks and mobility.
Candidates who wish to join us should demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching with documented teaching experience in English language, and various business fields. Prerequisites are a profound methodical and didactical engagement with respect to the English language, work and networking experience, as well as research at a national and international level. The candidate`s international qualifications should allow for establishing new partnerships for our university. The applicant shall have a comprehensive overview of Business Administration and Management, which he/she is able to effectively communicate to our students in English.
Previous employment (ideally 3 years) outside academia with a background in Business Administration is also a pre-requisite. Experience in acquiring and securing external research funding (third-party projects) and in international networking would be an advantage. Strong skills in building cooperation within faculties as well as within industry and research institutes is also of importance. The teaching language is English.
