Applications are invited for a full-time Research Assistant to join the Centre for Family Research, a multidisciplinary research centre that conducts a wide range of studies examining family relationships and child development.

The Research Assistant will work with Professor Susan Golombok and Dr Vasanti Jadva on a follow up study of families created through assisted reproductive technologies.

The position will involve contacting families, carrying out standardised interviews and observational assessments with parents and their young adult children, data coding, data entry and transcribing.  The successful candidate will have a good degree in Psychology, proven experience in family research, and a liberal attitude to medically assisted reproduction. 

Candidates will ideally hold a full UK driving license (hire car available), be willing to travel independently to families throughout the UK, be flexible with working hours, have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to conduct research on sensitive topics.  Previous experience in interviewing parents and children is essential, as is a good theoretical understanding of child development.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 November 2020 in the first instance.
