Are you an excellent basic or clinical science researcher with a clear research vision looking to secure a personal fellowship and establish your own research group? The National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) at Imperial College wishes to nurture the next generation of outstanding researchers and invites applications for an attractive and flexible fellowship scheme for those wishing to develop an independent research career. The NHLI will cover the cost of your salary, commensurate with experience and basic or clinical pay scales, for up to 12 months (with possibility of extending to 18 months), plus modest consumables, whilst you develop and submit a strong application(s) for an independent externally funded fellowship to establish your own research group at NHLI. While we welcome applications across the remit of NHLI we particularly welcome proposals which address personalised healthcare in cardiovascular disease, which will be supported by the British Heart Foundation Centre for Research Excellence.
We will provide mentorship from world-leading academics to enable you to reach your full potential. We also offer a very supportive environment for you to develop your research career, with full access to training courses and staff support within the College, including the award winning Postdoc and Fellows Development Centre and the Learning and Development Centre. You will be entitled to 10 days learning and development per year and will have access to a range of courses and workshops, as well as support for developing your fellowship application(s) and mock interviews.
Please ensure you attach a full publication list and details of all previous applications for fellowships, and a short proposal (~500 words) outlining your research ideas and plan for developing an application for a personal research fellowship.
