UCL's Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is seeking an Institute Administrator to support the UCL Institute of Communications and Connected Systems (ICCS). Liaising with the growing membership of ICCS and the wider UCL communications technology and application research community, the role holder will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the institute. The role also serves as a pivotal function in supporting the Directors' discharge of their academic and management duties.
As a primary contact for the Institute the role holder will, in liaison with the Institute Manager, establish and support the operational infrastructure to facilitate the institute's activities and advancement. Duties and responsibilities will include budget monitoring, event and stakeholder coordination and ensuring communications, such as the website and newsletters, are current and accurate. The role will also undertake diary and email management for the Directors in addition to organising complex travel arrangements.
This vacancy is funded for 2.5 years in the first instance.
Applicants should have experience of managing a busy diary and inbox, organising events, committee servicing and budget monitoring. Experience of organising frequent and complex travel itineraries is also essential. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, the role holder must also demonstrate effective planning, organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects and conflicting deadlines.
Experience of effectively building and/or updating websites and overseeing external communications via social media would be desirable. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate a commitment to providing an efficient, professional and effective service to the many users and contacts both internally at all levels of the organisation and externally.
