Postdoctoral Position in Chemistry

The position is available from January 1st, 2020, for 21 months.

The Chair of Chemical Materials Science is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work within the University of Konstanz, one of the top 10 German research universities, on catalytic upgrading of microalgae feedstocks.

The position is part of a project studying the extraction and catalytic conversion of algae lipids in supercritical carbon dioxide as a medium, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

Your responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of a novel continuous flow high pressure reactor system
  • Safe operation of this system in continuous mode
  • Studies of immobilized molecular catalysts

Your profile

  • Excellent scientific track record
  • PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, ideally on Catalysis
  • Independent and responsible
  • Teamworker
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
