The Department of Social Policy and Intervention has an exciting opportunity for an outstanding scholar to join the Department as an Associate Professor of Social Policy, in association with a non-tutorial fellowship at Green Templeton College. Associate Professor is the main academic career grade at Oxford with a focus on research and teaching, spanning the full range of professor grades.
The post is available from April 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will be for 5 years in the first instance, and upon successful completion of this initial period of office, the postholder will be eligible for reappointment to the retiring age.
The Department is a world-leading centre of excellence for research and teaching in social policy and intervention. Green Templeton College provides an interdisciplinary environment from medical sciences to a broad range of social sciences.
You will have completed a doctorate in social science, have an outstanding programme of research in comparative social policy in at least one policy area, have expertise in British social policy and be capable of teaching qualitative methods.
You will be required to engage in comparative social policy research, seek and secure external research funding, teach and supervise postgraduate students and convene and contribute to the undergraduate Social Policy option on the PPE degree course, in addition to undertaking departmental administrative duties.
