Job Summary

We are looking for a Clinical Research Fellow to join a small team delivering the Immune Tolerance Network NIAID-funded GRADUATE Trial.  This is an exciting opportunity to work within Professor Stephen Durham’s group, Allergy and Clinical Immunology and in partnership with the Immune Tolerance Network Clinical Operations Team, based at University of California in San Francisco. GRADUATE is a 4-year clinical trial looking to test whether a medication can induce long-term tolerance to grass pollen for patients with moderate to severe hay fever

Duties and responsibilities

You will deliver the research on the ground, getting involved in all aspects from recruitment of study participants, assessing suitability and obtaining consent, to carrying out allergy assessments and tests and delivering immunotherapy and subcutaneous monoclonal antibody treatment. You will be trained and required to follow protocols closely and collect high quality and accurate data for the research, while also providing an excellent service to study participants and encouraging retention.

Essential requirements

The successful candidate will have a medical qualification with GMC registration. They will have clinical experience in clinical allergy and rhinology and/or respiratory medicine and the relevant clinical skills for the role. Ideally, they will also have experience of working in clinical research and a good working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice. As in all clinical research, accurate record keeping is key.

Further Information

We anticipate a start date in August 2020, however due to the current ongoing situation with COVID-19 we may need to review this. We will keep applicants informed as much as possible if the situation changes. The post is full time and fixed term until 30 April 2023 following a successful probationary period.

Salary range: £33,790 - £44,112 plus £2,162 London Weighting Allowance per annum
