An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) to lead the Lancashire Forensic Science Academy, in partnership with Lancashire Constabulary and the Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner. The academy is the first collaboration of its kind within policing and forensic science, where forensic science experts and students will work alongside each other in new, purpose-built police facilities to research, investigate and deliver forensic science services in Lancashire. We now anticipate significant opportunities to grow the activity further in line with national initiatives to revolutionise forensics in both traditional and digital domains.

This is a key leadership and implementation role where you will have the opportunity to innovate and lead the development of Lancashire Forensic Science Academy through its curricula, research, CPD offering, income generating activity and work to enhance forensic science services in Lancashire.
You will work in partnership with experts from across the University and Lancashire Constabulary to develop and deliver all aspects of the Academy’s work.
The ideal candidate will bring experience of working in a relevant professional and/or Higher Education environment to build and develop new opportunities for the Academy and all its stakeholders. This is a role which will report into senior leadership within the Faculty of Science and Technology at UCLan, but with appropriate reporting lines within the Constabulary.
For a candidate who meets the University’s criteria the appointment will be made at Professorial level.
