Faculty Director of Foundation Education (5 years initially) with appointment to substantive Senior Lecturership (Teaching & Scholarship).

The Faculty of Science and Engineering is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) who will serve as the Faculty Director of Foundation Education (5 years initially).

This post will be on a Teaching and Scholarship contract and the postholder will be expected to develop and deliver foundation teaching and engage in scholarship activities aligned with enhancing our foundation education provision. The successful candidate will be required to commence employment by 23 January 2027.

About You

We are looking for an individual to contribute to the intellectual life of their substantive School, the Faculty Foundation programs and wider institution. Having extensive teaching experience, you should be able to design, develop and deliver high-quality teaching and assessment at foundation level for the benefit of students. Experience of delivering mathematics at foundation level is preferred, though we will consider applications from across the range of Science and Engineering disciplines. 

You should have clear and ambitious plans for pedagogical activities that aim at achieving excellence in foundation education and student experience, both in and beyond the classroom, and have the ambition to influence the education landscape and create world-wide impact with your pedagogical work.
