The University of Reading and LCMB are delighted to announce they are working collaboratively on an exciting Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) using advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to develop a software solution which improves building efficiency and indoor environmental optimisation by creating healthier, more sustainable and productive workplaces. The position is a 24-month fixed term contract based full-time at LCMB in Bloxham, Oxfordshire with support from experts at the University of Reading.

About KTP:
This position forms part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funded by Innovate UK.  It’s essential you understand how KTP works with business and the University, and the vital role you will play if you secure a KTP Associate position.

Skill development through training:
There is a £4k dedicated training budget tailored towards your own personal development in addition to residential management skills training.

The successful candidate must possess:

  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Maths or another quantitative field
  • A demonstrated understanding of AI and ML; keen to apply this into real-world problems and challenges
  • Strong computer programming skills e.g. use of Python

Essential skills we require as a minimum:

  • Knowledge of practical application of software engineering
  • Ability to adapt this learning to new technical systems
  • Critical thinking and development of mathematically-driven solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to project manage the KTP while operating independently within a small team
  • Demonstrate the desire and ability to lead on a commercial project with an understanding of the multi-dimensional nature of a KTP project
