The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London invites applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer academic position in the area of Thermofluids. Candidates with expertise in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics applied to energy conversion systems are welcome to apply, preferably with emphasis on any of the following: waste heat recovery, thermal management and energy storage.
Examples of research include waste heat recovery from industrial processes, air charge and thermal management in thermal propulsion systems, organic Rankine cycles and supercritical systems with optimisation of components, and advanced thermal storage systems. The ability to undertake combined experimental and computational studies at both fundamental and applied levels is an important aspect of this post.
About the Department & Division
The Thermofluids Division at Imperial has, over five decades, established an internationally leading record in pure and applied research into heat and mass transfer and fluid flow. In-house facilities include cutting-edge laboratories and accompanying advanced instrumentation. The ability of the Division to undertake combined experimental and computational modelling studies is a distinct feature of our capabilities. We are seeking candidates able to collaborate with one or more groups within the Thermofluids Division.
