We are currently looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Professor Tao Dong's group  to support the research laboratory and to be involved in on-going research projects.

The main objective of Professor Dong’s group’s research is to focus on the functional aspects of the antigen specific T cells and studying the factors affecting T cells in controlling virus infection/cancer.

The successful candidate will have primary responsibility of helping a senior member of group to support research in the laboratory. You will provide general support to the running of the laboratory, including the ordering of reagents, sample shipping, the administration of databases, lab stocks and the compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also be involved in laboratory research using a variety of techniques including molecular biology, biochemistry, cellular biology, and virology.

You will directly report to Dr Yanchun Peng and liaise with Professor Dong on a regular basis and will provide technical supervision to other lab members.

To be considered for this position you should Hold a relevant PhD, together with relevant experience, such as immunology or molecular biology and a willingness to work with human blood.

You should have extensive experience in good tissue culture and/or molecular biology and a willingness to learn new techniques and to achieve research goals .Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team, as well as independently, whilst taking personal responsibility for assigned tasks.

The post is full time and fixed-term for up to 2 years in the first instance.
