Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff.
The BA (Hons) Filmmaking course commenced in September 2018. This is an exciting time to join the course team, as you will have the opportunity to make a distinct contribution to this ambitious course. Your ideas, talent and enthusiasm will be promoted and encouraged as you play an important role in helping to shape and develop the course and engage students through creative learning experiences.
The main focus on the role will be to lead, develop, deliver, support and assess practice based Filmmaking modules across the course, working as part of the course team. You will be expected to have a specialist understanding of hands-on contemporary filmmaking practice and the ability to effectively present and communicate this knowledge to students.
You will also contribute skills and experience to building an external profile with employers, film and cinema events and exhibitors. Working individually and as a member of a team you will be expected to deliver teaching within a variety of settings including lectures, seminars, studio and location-based workshops, peer reviews and individual tutorials.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in a relevant subject, be able to demonstrate extensive specialist filmmaking skills and support critical thinking and reflective practice. You will be required to engage with the University’s research agenda.
