The Bartlett School of Architecture is one of the most influential, exciting and innovative architecture schools in the world, setting the agenda for what architecture is and could be. Building on a long tradition of innovation and ingenuity, The Bartlett School of Architecture has nearly 300 staff and 1,000 students from 50 countries who continue to explore new challenges with a passion for inventiveness, intelligence and wit.

The postholder will proactively liaise with academic colleagues, professional services staff and student representatives across the Bartlett and UCL, working to develop, augment and lead short and long-term strategies to improve the Bartlett School of Architecture online environment. Particular areas of focus will be student experience (i.e. virtual teaching, remote computing, and social spaces) and staff wellbeing (i.e. remote working, home-office support, and social spaces).

The School is now seeking to appoint to the new post of Project Lead – Computing and Online Delivery. This is a 12 month fixed-term opportunity working on the short-term delivery of computing needs and online access (software, hardware, systems and financing) and long-term strategy for digital/virtual/hybrid for the Bartlett School of Architecture (presence, interactions and longevity).

The successful candidate will have experience of working with and knowledge of digital technologies, IT and online platforms. They will have the ability to work collaboratively as both part of a multidisciplinary team and on their own initiative.

The role will involve managing multiple projects, leading reviews with the ability to anticipate and avoid potential strategic flaws and risks in plans. Effective communication skills with an approachable manner and patient attitude towards all colleagues is essential as the postholder will interact with a wide variety of students and staff across the School and the wider university.

Candidates should demonstrate experience of proactive and effective engagement with education development and student-centred issues and a commitment to making inclusivity, diversity and (inter) cultural awareness core to actions and decision making. In addition, a genuine interest and enthusiasm for the realm of architecture as well as IT, computation and digital media is essential.
