The Department of Computer and Information Sciences has a distinguished record of high-quality research. We wish to appoint a Professor/Reader of AI broadly-construed to include both the technical side of AI as well as the human side of AI. Our AI group makes significant contributions across the Department and University via its own research, underpinning research of others, engaging in knowledge exchange and through a significant teaching including a current and a proposed new MSc.
The Department is flourishing; in the 2019 National Student Survey (NSS) we scored 5th in the UK, our PGT cohort has increased from 30 to over 170 in the last 5 years, PhD numbers have doubled as has grant income this REF. We are at the heart of Strathclyde's award winning KE-ecosystem. These successes mean the department has grown significantly in recent years and we expect staff numbers to continue to rise rapidly.
We would love to hear from you if you have an internationally recognised research portfolio in this area, are publishing in leading international journals, are actively pursuing funding whilst building impactful collaborative links with industrial and business partners and if you have a passion for progressing teaching and learning. In keeping with our commitment to equality and diversity, we encourage applications from all sections of the community, particularly those who can support our Athena SWAN activity, which inspires the advancement and representation of women in higher education.
