Boya (Liberal Arts) College is a learning community founded by Sun Yat-sen University dedicated to liberal education in 2009. To counter the over-utilitarian approaches to higher education merely designed for competitiveness in the global economy, our college adopts approaches keener to classical liberal education emphasizing the value of broad learning and humanistic education in cultivating students’ free mind and their civic and ethical responsibilities in an interdependent and diverse world.
