To ensure a robust process is implemented and executed for Leeds Teaching Hospitals to provide a data extraction and de-identification service delivering accurate, tailored information to meet specific needs in support of researchers’ requirements for a wide range of projects which utilise digital pathology images and other fields to support data analysis and the training of Artificial Intelligence models.
To work with researchers from across National Pathology Imaging Cooperative (NPIC), Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, the University of Leeds and other partners to identify datasets required to execute research projects, providing a high quality of customer service.
To work with colleagues in Informatics, Information Governance and Research and Innovation to ensure that all necessary approvals are received for the release of the required datasets.
To extract and provide the required information from a range of databases to research teams in a timely manner for use in projects, supporting the Trust’s ambitions to be a leader in providing high-quality, comprehensive datasets which can be used to advance patient care through research.
Providing reports to colleagues in Research and Innovation and Informatics on datasets provided, the pipeline of potential projects and forecast workload to ensure adequate resources are available to provide a high-quality and efficient service.
To set-up and manage “grand challenge” competitions that address major unmet needs in Digital Pathology through mechanisms such as Kaggle or grandchallenge.org
