A Peer Support Officer is required by the University of Exeter. Based in Teaching, Quality, Assurance and Enhancement the role will support Peer Programmes with a particular focus on WP oriented schemes. This GBP role is available immediately for 23 months.

The purpose of this role will be to support widening participation activities in the Academic Skills team in four main areas. Support the organisation and delivery of peer schemes for WP students, which will include, organising resources, room bookings, taking minutes at meetings and attending and conduction observations of peer to peer sessions. Supporting the organisation of inclusive peer support events, which will include organisation and delivery of peer mentor debrief sessions, an annual peer support wards event, termly networking events and training sessions. Supporting the development and marketing of online peer scheme resources, which will include, running focus groups, creating marketing materials, creating social media posts, and evaluating and reporting on the impact of interventions. Finally this role will assist the peer support team to maintain peer scheme records, particularly for WP oriented programmes, this will include assisting with maintaining workflow records, supporting mentors and student peer programme organisers, ensuring distribution lists are kept up to date, and assisting with updating the peer organisers hub.
We are looking for self-motivated and enthusiastic graduate with excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to think creatively and be resourceful. Applicants should have good IT skills, including Excel and Word, as well as an interest or knowledge of web design. Applicants will also have excellent communication skills, have teamwork and collaboration skills, and be confident in networking and liaising with others. In addition, applicants should have some experience of helping to organise events, and marketing and publicity, together with initiative and problem-solving skills.
