Institute of Cell Biology

35 hours per week

9 month contract 

The Opportunity: 

Our lab is interested in understanding how the cytoskeletal architecture of neurons is established and maintained during neuronal development. The lab uses and develops novel biological tools and state-of-the-art (fluorescence) microscopy to manipulate and visualize the dynamic cellular structures at high temporal and spatial resolution. The candidate will learn a wide range of techniques from genetics, culturing and maintenance of C. elegans, the state if the art techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9 and the latest biological and microscopy techniques.  

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • A master’s in biology or related life sciences field is desirable
  • Training in biochemical purification of kinetochore and mitotic protein complexes
  • Familiarity with C. elegans
  • Training in molecular biology methods
  • Ability to use FPLC and cross linking mass spectrometry
