Location: The post-holder will be primarily based on the Singleton Park Campus, but may be required to work across University sites as required

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive International Student Compliance Officer to join the busy and dynamic Student Compliance Services Team. We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a proven track record of working effectively within a team, balancing multiple priorities and demonstrating initiative. The post holder will be an experienced and efficient administrator, with exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills. You will also have excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across cultures.

As a key member of the Student Compliance Services team within Academic Services, The post holder will play a key role in the Right to Study registration of International Students, including the tracking of international students’ arrival in the UK and ensuring the necessary compliance duties are discharged thereafter.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified to degree level or have appropriate applicable professional experience.


  • Experience of applying Immigration Rules and Regulations pertaining to students (particularly the Student Route, EU Settlement Scheme and Graduate Route) and knowledge of the associated compliance duties.
  • Experience of data entry and retrieval activities on a large database, preferably SITS.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent IT skills, for example Microsoft Office packages, with a good knowledge of Excel and Access
  • Ability to understand data integrity, retrieval and manipulation
  • Ability to work methodically and to develop and follow set processes and procedures accurately
  • Ability to understand and respond quickly to changes in legislation, regulations and procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly to a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrable organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload with conflicting demands.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well within a team as well as to take individual responsibility.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and attentiveness to detail as well as ability to contextualise matters.
  • Ability to work with and provide support to senior members of staff.
