About us: This post offers the opportunity to be part of a team taking our Photography delivery to new heights. Teaching responsibilities are focussed mainly across our BA Hons Photography course, a well-established programme with an excellent record of student and graduate achievement. However, there will also be opportunities to contribute to our highly-respected MA Photography. Research and/or ongoing creative and professional practice are integral to this role. We will support the post-holder with five weeks per annum set aside for scholarly activity, as well as opportunities for personal development through UWE’s staff training programmes.
About you: We are looking for an experienced photography academic with a proven track record of undergraduate delivery, demonstrating excellent student-focused teaching. An inspiring teacher, you will have the ability to enable our students to develop their creative voice, hone their production and craft skills and develop their future potential. You will have excellent professional and/or commercial networks to help our students explore a range of professional environments and develop successful careers.
You will be qualified to postgraduate level in a subject relevant to this role as well as have evidence of continuing professional development and professional activity. You will possess sufficient breadth and depth of specialist knowledge in the photographic discipline to work within the established teaching programmes, as well as high levels of management, administration, and organisation skills.
You will be working alongside an experienced team of academic and technical instructors, in facilities that encompass a breadth of photographic output, from alternative chemical processes to high quality book making and 2D and 3D digital printing. You will either hold, or be willing to undertake within 2 years, a teaching qualification, or Higher Education Academy (HEA) Membership.
This post is based at our City Campus in Bristol city centre which comprises of Bower Ashton Studios, Arnolfini, Spike Island and Watershed.

These are permanent posts, and are part-time working on a 50% contract.
