We are seeking an experienced and committed individual with excellent interpersonal skills to join the Print & Design Solutions Management Team as Senior Graphic Designer.
As the Senior Graphic Designer, you will be a key enabler to the growth of the Print and Design Solutions Department (P&DS). This is an important role for P&DS and for the University. The post holder will be pivotal and crucial in ensuring that work is divided around the design team considering workloads and individual skills. The Senior Designer is responsible for the personal development of the team and ensuring training and development takes into account new opportunities.
The Senior Designer is also responsible for deputising for the Graphic Design Manager and will be asked to attend, input and advise senior managers with campaigns and engagement. Along with the Graphic Design Manager, you will work closely with senior members of Corporate Communications, Events and Examination teams as well as working with senior members of all Faculties and their departments, to produce graphics to support them. You will act as a University brand ambassador and custodian, encouraging the appropriate use of the visual identity within the design team and departments, by ensuring accurate and consistent representation within the brand guidelines.
Reporting to the Graphics Design Manager, you will support the P&DS management team to achieve the P&DS vision and 3 year strategy, by providing expert advice and support to your design team, ensuring that all training and workforce planning activities of your team, University policies and best practice are met. The need to develop and maintain networks within EFM departments and the wider University community is imperative. You will be expected to manage multiple concurrent and complex initiatives and projects at any one time.
You will play a key role in engaging and developing the Design team in P&DS to enhance the student experience, provide quality assurance, comply with relevant legislation and ensure a sustainable, efficient and effective operation. You will be committed to the broader remit of staff development and be passionate about embedding, sustainability, equality, diversity and inclusion practices across EFM.
