Our mission is to find social entrepreneurs with bold solutions to today’s challenges. Through funding and support, we help them to realise their potential and creating lasting change.

We are particularly keen to hear from those who identify as Black, Asian or minority ethnic, LGBTQIA, people who are disabled, those with learning differences, those with caring responsibilities, from a less advantaged socioeconomic background as well as any other under-represented group in our workforce.

About the role
UnLtd passionately believes in the ability of social entrepreneurs to change the world for the better. We are living through a time of unique social and economic change. Growing economic inequality and tension mean many people and places need support to level the playing field and lead with equity. Trust in all four key institutions — business, government, NGOs and the media — has declined dramatically. Enormous pressures on the health and social care system, austerity, increasing income inequality, the roll back of public services, and the shifting nature of work all throw up major challenges, this alongside the impact of Covid 19 means tackling these complex challenges requires a radical shift in thinking and practice.
We need bold and sustainable innovations, designed and led by people who have direct experience of the issues they are seeking to address. These innovations must build on the ideas, energy, talent and resources of people and communities in an inclusive, participatory way. They should create both social and economic value. This is the promise that social entrepreneurs offer, and UnLtd exists to realise this promise. We are the leading supporter of social entrepreneurs in the UK. Our vision is of a society where social entrepreneurs are providing solutions that change the world for the better.
To move social entrepreneurs from the margins to the mainstream will require us to amplify the voices and impact of our social entrepreneurs, working with them in an equitable and inclusive way. It will require us to deepen our work around impact and become a fully data-led organisation. It will require us to embrace failure and be curious and open to the learning opportunities it creates.
As a Researcher at UnLtd, you will be responsible for a range of research and evaluation activities on some key new projects, subject to contract. You will spend some of your time collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to produce insights and reports to inform and influence internal and external stakeholders
Alongside this, you will contribute to developing a culture of learning, ensuring that insights and evidence generated by our research and evaluation activity feed back into the organisation. You will have opportunities to contribute to our policy and influencing work, and to work with other colleagues across the organisation to help us be an impact-driven, agile, learning organisation.
