Project Officer, Global Innovation Services The appointment will be on UCL Grade 6.
We are seeking a highly proficient Project Officer to co-ordinate and manage the administration associated with key Global Innovation Services (GIS) such as Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), Innovate2Succeed (I2S), COVID Response and Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP). These programmes work with Small and Medium-Enterprises (SMEs) with a view to advise them in their innovation management challenges and internationalisation efforts.
In particular, the job will play a major role in facilitating the timely tracking of project performance outputs for periodic reporting to external funders, such as the European Commission and Innovate UK. The role requires some financial understanding to monitor budget spending and funding, as well as business acumen and a strong customer-facing ethos to enable the post-holder to deal directly with enquiries from companies and other external organisations.
The post-holder will also contribute generally to the effectiveness of the GIS team in responding to queries from clients and other stakeholders and be expected to become well acquainted with the different programme eligibility criteria, procedures, and practices to guide and advise colleagues. Additionally, the post-holder will possess the analytical skills required to monitor Global Innovation activities and their economic impact into society. This is a fixed-term role until 31st March 2022.
The successful applicant will possess project management experience, good level of financial skills and IT literacy. They should be able to demonstrate experience of recording and monitoring financial and project data to meet regular reporting and audit needs, as well as show familiarity with CRM platforms in order to manage client’s data. Other essential requirements include an ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, prioritize, work to tight deadlines, be self-motivated and well organized.
