The Department for Continuing Education specialises in providing quality education to adult learners and is seeking tutors to teach online courses in archaeology and related subjects on a rolling basis. Candidates will be well-qualified academically with experience of teaching and researching at university level. The minimum qualification required is a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant archaeological subject.
Our short online course programme comprises 10-week asynchronous courses offered mostly at FHEQ level 4 for 10 Credit and Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS) points. Tutor duties mostly include participation in online text-based discussion, drafting weekly messages to students, and marking and providing feedback for formative and summative assessments. Work expectations are 8 hours per week in Weeks 1 and 2, followed by 4 hours per week in Weeks 3 to 10, exclusive of time for marking, which is paid per assignment.
We are specifically seeking candidates with an expertise in World Prehistory, the archaeology of the Middle East (Neolithic to Roman), and human evolution.
Appointments will be made on a rolling basis up until the 1st December 2021.
