Justice & Care is an anti-slavery organisation working internationally to address slavery and human trafficking, provide release and care for victims, dismantle criminal networks and bring perpetrators to justice. It works to protect communities at risk from traffickers and spark systemic change by working with policy makers and other key stakeholders. 

Our International Systemic Change Unit (ISCU) is a new and growing team that specialises in the development of robust research and analysis to inform operational practice, sectoral learning and policy making internationally. 

We are looking for a Research Analyst to provide important support to the ISCU’s work -  

contributing to the development of quality research, the facilitation of critical debates, and collaboration with trusted experts and key stakeholders - helping to drive systemic change at the highest level. 

Your main responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 

  • Gathering and reviewing relevant literature on key issues 
  • Analysing, critiquing and summarising evidence 
  • Supporting our own research and analysis 
  • Drafting and editing evidence briefs and research reports 
  • Drafting funding applications for research projects 
  • Providing administrative support to research projects, consortiums and events 
  • Supporting collaboration with partners

Key requirements include: 

  • Masters or equivalent professional experience in international development, international relations, economics, public policy or another relevant social science 
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of social science research methodologies 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in drafting complex reports/policy proposals 
  • Effective project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple conflicting tasks to meet strict deadlines 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to contribute wherever needed
