About the role: Reporting to the Head of Student Administration and Advice, you will work with Faculty and Service colleagues to support the delivery of work associated with students beginning their studies with us, including registration, on campus logistics, and events. You will also ensure that the information and systems are in place and updated to support all new arrivals. The role works across all campuses and has connections to external agencies including the Students’ Union, the NHS and Voter Registration.  You will take a proactive, pragmatic, solution focused approach to addressing and resolving any operational issues that may arise and take a strategic approach to the planning and delivery of this work based on the university’s operating model.

The start of year activities are focused on September and January when large cohorts begin their studies, however, students join programmes throughout the year. It is therefore important to ensure all new students feel welcomed and part of the university community.

About you: If you have experience in a large organisation and can demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, and an interest in supporting students, we would like to hear from you. An ability to work flexibly, managing multiple priorities, whilst, at times, under pressure is crucial to this role. Flexibility and a solution focused approach will be key elements in this role. 

You will be required to utilise matrix management techniques on a regular basis so should be able to demonstrate this experience.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus.

This is a permanent full-time post working 37 hours per week and is available on a job-share basis.

The University is implementing a hybrid way of working once restrictions from Covid 19 end therefore you will be expected to work on campus for part of your working week.

The University’s normal practice is that new appointments will be made at the starting point of the grade with incremental progression on the anniversary of appointment.
