We are looking for an enthusiastic data scientist to assess, clean and analyse large-scale individual-level raw genotype data, controlling quality and preparing the data for the DecodeME genome-wide association study (GWAS).

The Opportunity:

You would perform quality analyses of existing human genetic data, using a variety of methods as detailed in the DecodeME GWAS Analysis Plan, and take a lead role in quality control of new genetic information obtained through laboratory analysis of DNA samples.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Enthusiasm coupled to strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expertise in statistical genetic analysis and use of related software
  • Experience of a UNIX / LINUX environment, use of high performance computing and working with large datasets
  • Interest in the genetic causes of why people become ill with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
