About the role

Digital Services at the University of Leicester are on an exciting Agile journey, looking to embrace the ideals and principles of Agile delivery to provide better products and outcomes for our community. This is an exciting time to join a department which is looking to build upon existing Agile practises as well as push forward and become a true Digital, Agile department delivering change across the University.

Working from both home and campus, you will join the Portfolio team within the department, focusing on delivering on the Digital Strategy and creating a new Digital Future for the University. Most of the portfolio is delivered using traditional Prince2 Projects Managers as well as a handful of Agile Product teams. This is a great opportunity to get involved and drive a positive move towards Product based delivery.
Working in collaboration with key stakeholders (Digital Leads, Product Owners and Executives) to understand Product Visions and Roadmaps, you will lead on taking high level business outcomes into a single, communicated plan for delivery of technology changes over a number of sprints. Through this, you will build effective Agile teams delivering on a defined backlogs of customer demand.

You will also play an important part in supporting and coaching teams and individuals across Digital Services as well as colleagues from the wider University understand and excel in working in an Agile way.

About you

As the ideal candidate, you will have substantial experience working with agile product teams as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead. You will have experience of managing complex IT projects in an IT supplier, end-user or IT consultancy services company and an extensive track record of successfully delivering IT projects. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold PRINCE2 Project Management Foundation or equivalent. Experience in structured project methodologies such as PRINCE2 as well as IT development process and IT technologies is essential.
