We are looking for an experienced project archivist to deliver on strategic projects for our archival collections at the University of Edinburgh. These projects aim to enhance the availability of our collections for research, learning, teaching and community engagement. The post will working with internal and external partners and funders such as the Wellcome Trust and Donors.
This role will oversee a number of projects on archival collections at the University of Edinburgh that fit with the Strategic Aims of the University and its Library and University Collections. The collections are both physical and digital and cross reference with other collections such as the art collections and rare book collections. They can have challenges in terms of current raw state physically and data about and within them. There may also more complex ethical considerations and stronger research interest than for other projects we have undertaken before. This will be done through creating intellectual control through cataloguing, physical stability through conserving, making them available for research through creation of access points and selective digitisation.
