This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced, professional team working with key stakeholders inside and outside the University to deliver a range of activities as part of the University’s strategy for recruitment and widening participation.
The Home Recruitment and Conversion team is responsible for the coordination, planning and delivery of key recruitment and widening participation initiatives at the University, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Such initiatives include the University Open Days, attendance at school and college events across the country or via virtual platforms, as well as widening participation outreach as set out in the University’s Access and Participation Plan.
What will you be doing?
The successful applicant will lead on a flagship widening participation intervention such as the Sutton Trust summer school – one of two flagship residential programmes for sixth-form learners from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds. They will work with target schools and colleges either in person or via virtual platforms and will pay particular attention to engaging with underrepresented groups, including BAME audiences and students living in low participation areas, as defined by POLAR4. In addition, the successful applicant will liaise with faculties in order to develop and deliver generalist and subject specific outreach activities and will monitor application and intake statistics and interpret this data to develop appropriate outreach activities.

They will have experience of delivering activities for young people and/or working with underrepresented groups. They will be innovative and hard working.
